About the author, Jaz P.G
I was born and raised in New England. I am proud to say that I am Hispanic. I highly enjoy traveling. I luckily have lived in my parents native countries of Colombia and Dominican Republic. In addition, I am fluent in Spanish and I try to keep my parents culture alive in my daily life. As for lifestyle, I try to live in a way where I make the most of every moment. I am very into the green movement and believe in holistic remedies. I stopped taking medication for my dystonia as it was interfering with my daily activities. I am currently exploring cannabis, electromagnetic simulation and
eating healthy and exercising regularly. I also try and practice meditation as often as possible and strive in keeping a positive outlook on life. Affirmations help me on a daily basis.
I am currently finishing my MBA and am focusing on my studies. I am 26 years old and one year ago, in August of 2012, I was diagnosed with lingual dystonia. It came as a huge surprise and I have realized my life journey, aspirations and outlook have changed forever. Lingual dystonia is one of the rarest forms of dystonia. This being said, there is no cure for dystonia and life with this condition has become a challenge.
In addition, I am still working and attending my graduate studies full time. I am not allowing for dystonia to slow me down and want others to realize that just because life gets tough, it doesn't mean we need to give up.
